Phonics Treasure Hunt

A great game for explorers... simply match items in your basket of treasures to the phonic sounds cards around the house or garden.

1. Place the phonics cards around the house, room or garden. Bear in mind that there are 32 phoneme cards in our Phonics pack so try and focus on the sounds stage appropriate for your child.

2. Fill a bag with lots of small toys and objects that start with the sound of the phonics cards you are using. e.g. a = apple, p = penguin, t = triangle.

3. Ask your child to see if they can find the cards around the house and match up the items to the letter sound on the card. Once they find the card, ask them to place the item on the card.

4. Once they have placed all the objects on the cards. Ask them to show you where they found the card and which items matched up to each card. This will encourage repetition and kids love to show you their achievements.
