Let Toys Be Toys was set up in 2013 with the aim to challenge stereotyping in toy design. Both bricks and mortar and online stores that meet the standards can be awarded the Toymark; a badge of quality to help parents choose shops and products that welcome children, regardless of gender. Let Toys Be Toys is run by a voluntary group of individuals looking to help make the world more inclusive.
Play is an essential part of how children develop and learn about the world around us. Children benefit from access to a range of toys and play experiences. There are still a number of brands and shops that contribute to the stereotyping that we have seen for such a significant length of time with ‘pink for girls, and blue for boys’.
At Happy Little Doers, whilst our products are designed to help children learn in their own way through play, everything that we design is considered. Suitable for different abilities, sustainability and inclusivity with our colour palettes, illustrations and language that we use within the product and our website.
We are proud to share our Toymark award and a huge thanks to Let Toys Be Toys for the hard work that they do, and allowing us to be recognised by their brand.
